Applied Techniques

Person-Centred (Humanistic):

£60 per session

Person-centred therapy operates on the humanistic belief that we are inherently driven toward and has the capacity for growth and self-actualization. It relies on this force for therapeutic change. The role of the counsellor is to provide a nonjudgmental environment conducive to honest self-exploration.

Person-centred therapy is generally applied over the longer term, allowing clients time and space to explore their unresolved feelings or emotions.

Psychodynamic:

£60 per session

We all have a past.  Our childhoods define who we are in adulthood, but so often we’re unaware of these links. Psychotherapy works to bring our subconscious (or unconscious) thoughts into the present.

In its brief form, a psychodynamic approach enables the client to examine unresolved conflicts and symptoms that arise from past dysfunctional relationships and manifest themselves in the present.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy:

£75 per session

CBT emphasises the relationship between our thoughts, our feelings, and our behaviours. More specifically, how our thoughts change the way that we feel, which subsequently changes the way that we act, which then influences our thoughts. Without intervention, the process continues to repeat. The triangle looks a little something like this:

“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
